  • Oil painting of A Kingfisher In Water after Archibald Thorburn

Oil painting on canvas interpreting A Kingfisher in Water by Archibald Thorburn.

Archibald Thorburn (1860 - 1935) was a Scottish artist that specialised in wildlife, painting mostly in watercolour. He regularly sketched birds in the wild, especially at the Forest of Gaick near Kingussie, Invernesshire. His widely reproduced images of British wildlife, with their evocative and dramatic backgrounds, are enjoyed as much today as they were by naturalists a century ago.

Hand painted in oils by an individual artist, this painting has been stretched and is ready for mounting in your choice of solid wood frame:

Mahogany veneer with gilded highlights +$230
Carved corner decoration only, gilded finish +$270
Fully carved swept frame, gilded finish +$450

    Width: 23 inches  |  Height: 35¼ inches
